Municipal Clerk
The Municipal Clerk's office handles a vast number of functions. The Clerk acts as the secretary for the governing body, and is responsible for preparing the agenda and minutes for all Committee meetings. The Clerk is also the person designated to receive all correspondence for the township, and is responsible for maintaining township records. Anyone wishing to examine a municipal record must complete an OPRA (Open Public Records Act) form, which may be downloaded below or is available in the Clerk's Office.
The Municipal Clerk is the Registrar of Vital Statistics, and as such, issues marriage licenses. Any couple applying for a marriage license must call the Clerk's office to make an appointment at 908-995-4847 ext. 210. The Registrar also provides certified copies of birth, marriage and death certificates.
The Municipal Clerk also oversees the election process, issuing voter registration applications and/or address changes on voter records. Party affiliation forms and absentee ballot applications may be downloaded below or are available in the Clerk's Office. Residents must be registered at least 21 days prior to any election in order to be eligible to vote.
